After returning from smuggling Holy Bibles into China, God gave me the desire to reach out to the Chinese in our community.  One afternoon while eating at a local Chinese restaurant I asked our waitress if she was a Buddhist. She said, "No, I want to learn Christian." She went on to ask if we would teach her English. Xu became our first student.

As word got out that we were available, we began receiving calls for help from all the oriental restaurants in our area. Over the years we've taught Xu's husband, cousins, friends and now their children.  We helped one cousin gain asylum in the USA from religious persecution in China. Recently we helped Xu and her husband obtain their US citizenship and register to vote.

It is amazing how much our lives have changed and how much we've been blessed through offering to teach English to our waitress that Sunday afternoon.
